Kitto's Court and People of Persia
These two books were an absolute joy to assemble. The project went quickly on the final editing too. John Kitto as a young man lived in Baghdad as a missionary printer, and so used the opportunity to try to examine the lifestyles of the Persian people and their mentality. These two books open up a very closed society, so that we can understand them. In the process of learning the ways of the Persians, there are several things that explain events in Scripture, to say nothing of the story of Esther, the great Persian Queen that was used to save the Jews from annihilation. I hope God's people will be able to use this great work soon.
