Online Book Viewer
We are trying a different idea, that of putting our books online. For 10 year now we have been trying to romance and dance with the Bible software publishers, and they either thumb their noses at us, call us competion, or just plain make things miserable. The two exceptions have been Wordsearch and Laridian. However, with the loss of one employee at Wordsearch, things have gone back to what they were when we first tried to work with them. Very little gets done, and emails and calls to my "rep" go unanswered. Furthermore, sales are flat, at 12 sales per shelf. We need two or three hundred to make things start to work. To make matters worse, we do great when we just give stuff away, but that cheats Wordsearch out of revenue and us as well. We seem to be supporting the habit of God's people being great robbers with no integrity or concern for the well being of those they steal from.
At Laridian, there is great free interaction, but no interest by customers for our books. So why are we putting so much effort in conforming to their system?
Libronix has been a miserable situation from the start. We had gone with them but have been really treated rudely by the president. Going with a partner has not been good either. That whole deal cost us thousands of dollars and never did make any money. If sales are being done, there are no royalty payments as agreed upon. So why try to force a bad deal to continue?
So, we are going to try to get things so that our books will be online. We are afraid of piracy and of never getting any revenue from all the hard work invested, but we will leave that in God's hands. Having these valuable works sit on the shelves is not doing us or anyone else any good. So what about the robbery issue? How is offering the books for free helping stem the theft of hard work? I don't know, but maybe God will work on people's hearts and cause them to forgo the spending on evil in this world and channel some cash toward that which is good, eventually.
