Devotions

Monday, Daniel 6:1-5 & Psalm 91:1-3

Prayer builds a trust in God as we see His love and protection day by day. Daniel knew that the 120 world leaders were seeking to destroy him, but he was able to remain stable and above reproach because of his commitment to God. How is your prayer life? Is it strong enough to build trust between yourself and God? Is it enough to enable you to withstand the temptations of sin that devour so many?

Tuesday, Daniel 6:6-10 & Psalm 91:4-6

When Daniel knew that the new law was passed that was to target him as a criminal, he went home to pray as usual, giving thanks to God! This is powerful proof of Daniel having learned to abide in God and thus not fearing what ever may happen. Abiding in God gives us the life nourishing flow of divine sustenance. It enables us to bear fruit as we let God work through us. It gives us much to appreciate and thank God for providing. How is our thanksgiving? Are we aware of enough that we could stop three times a day and just thank God for His blessings the last couple hours?

Wednesday, Daniel 6:11-15 & Psalm 91:7-9

God makes powerful promises to us, but we cannot accept them unless we grow in faith enough to believe them. God’s promises are also for those who have made Him their habitation, by constantly dwelling in God, and coming apart from the world. The ungodly have no refuge or safety in the time of trouble. They do not have the faith to trust God during the times of stress. Their efforts to cope are empty and wasteful. Can we learn to trust God during normal circumstances so we can follow Him in the dark and hard times? What are the things we will pray about and trust God in today?
