The Importance of Crisis Management
What do we tend to do whenever a crisis hits? Do we panic, become hysterical, become bitter, blame God, or run? Being a child of God, we must learn to handle disasters in our lives just as He would want us to manage them.
If anyone knew how to direct a crisis, it was Daniel. Already in the first chapter of Daniel, he conducted himself like a seasoned adult. It must have been something to be with all of his friends who were absolutely terrified, mutilated, and humiliated. Daniel kept his senses, negotiated a better diet, and won the favor of his leaders.
In this chapter, unexpectedly, the emperor declares that all the scientists and their students must be executed. Daniel and his friends were included in this decree. What did Daniel do? What can we learn from this mighty man of God?
Daniel 2:1-12 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. 2Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. 3And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream. 4Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation. 5The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in
