to become objects to detain our faith or to supplant our dependence on God, else they become fetishes and idols. As fishermen of old bowed down to their net and burned incense to a drag, so many a warrior nowadays worships his artillery and his ironclads. “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;” but “God is our Refuge and Strength;” “In the Name of our God we will set up our banners.” Hezekiah’s fervent prayer had proved, in former years, a better protection for the royal city than all its walls and towers. If God is on our side, weakness itself becomes for us a very “munition of rocks.” But all the mountains and natural bastions round about Jerusalem are no mightier than a spider’s web if God be arrayed against it. The crystal flakes of snow did more deadly work for Napoleon than all the thunders of Russia’s artillery. “The Lord gave Jehoiakim King of Judah into his hand.””¹

Daniel was in line to sit on Judah’s throne?

Jerusalem’s destruction and the slaughter of many Jews could have been averted? King Nebuchadnezzar tried to reason and negotiate with Judah for over 3 years before taking military action against them.

Daniel and the other three boys mentioned in the book, never married because they had been castrated.

Castration causes rapid weight gain. Daniel’s diet enabled him to gain more weight than the other boys—something vegetables normally would not do.

Daniel had to learn elements of witchcraft, as did Joseph, Moses and probably Paul.

Education is only found in cultures that are, or were, Bible based.

Education is historically given so people can understand the Scriptures. The resulting social and side benefits are substantial.

Education that is not based upon God’s Word, or from God’s Word ceases to be factual and as such will constantly change with the whims of people.
