in Deuteronomy which speak of the Lord’s power to bear us. “The Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son” (Deuteronomy 1:31); “As an eagle beareth them on her wings (Deuteronomy 32:11); “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between His shoulders” (Deuteronomy 33:12). These verses remind us of the Good Shepherd carrying the sheep; but those who come to God through Him, know what it is to hide as His little ones in the bosom of the Father. “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:27).
