Born on October 28, 1850 in Pennsylvania, Clarence Larkin was saved at the age of 19. He began his career as a mechanical engineer, teacher and manufacturer before being ordained as a Baptist minister in 1884, at the age of 34. He was a pastor for 20 years, and changed to the premillennial position after extensive study. He began to make large wall charts to present the information learned about prophecy. The demand for his booklets and books on prophecy caused him to leave the pastorate for the last 5 years of his life to devote his time to full time writing. He died January 24, 1924. |
