Henry Hunter was an amazingly energetic man who lived from August 25, 1741 to October 27,1802. He started out with a good education and had the privilege of tutoring a couple of men who became notable. In 1764 he entered the ministry and in 1766 was ordained. His preaching was well received and popular. He edited and translated several French works and wrote quite a few of his own. He is described as a “mall of learning” and his Sacred Biography enjoyed great popularity in England and America. He died at only 62, and his wife the year after. He lost several children in their infancy.
